Whilst I never had a problem with dental treatment, a few years ago I developed a real phobia of the dentist. I have to say that if, like me, you have bad anxiety then Dr Sam Aboalkaz is so good. His manner is so calm and reassuring. I will be utterly honest - I didn’t even feel the numbing injection this time. He regularly checked I was ok during the procedure (which took over an hour) & told me what he was doing. Visiting the dentist will never be my favourite thing to do but Dr Aboalkaz made it so much more bearable - thank you!

This dentist practice has been my families dentists for a few years and they are always superb in their approach and treatment. A big shout out goes to Dr Rhys Thomas and all the Hygienists who have saved my teeth with their superb actions and advice over the years.

Before coming to Six Gables I suffered from extreme anxiety and distress when attending dental appointments. Since meeting Andrew Gardner, he has transformed the experience into an enjoyable and fun one. I was a patient of Andrew's for 15 years until I moved to London and had to transfer to a local practice. My experience at that practice was terrible, with them forcing expensive and unnecessary treatments on me and I now travel back to Cardiff for my dental treatment as no one compares to Andrew! Andrew prioritises patient care over everything and works hard to see me at very short notice.

I recently had my first dental appointment at the clinic, due to some pain in my teeth when brushing and flossing. I was really anxious, as I've always been scared to go to the dentist due to previous bad experiences and also because I'm autistic and the dentist usually leads to severe sensory overload.Sam Aboalkaz is great, he made me feel calm whilst he inspected my teeth and explained what was going on with my teeth in a way I could understand and answered all my questions. He was really approachable and honest and he minimised any instances that could have lead to sensory overwhelm. I highly recommend Sam as a dentist, he has great attention to detail , is a really honest person and he really cares about his patients and their comfort.

After I received an emergency appointment for an issue with my wisdom tooth that was causing me tremendous pain , I have had it removed here and I must say it didn't hurt at all, the procedure was explained to me very clearly and medication for the post-op procedure offered, the actual extraction lasted for what seemed seconds with no discomfort at all. I walked in crying and left smiling honestly extremely professional and kind dentists and nurses and the receptionists lovely, would highly recommend this dental practice and I wish all places were like this 👏⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

After experiencing raging toothache, the lovely staff at Six Gables Practice managed to offer me an emergency appointment the same day I rang. I had an issue with one of my wisdom teeth which needed extracting. The dentist and practice nurse really looked after me, the procedure was explained very clearly and executed very efficiently. I am so pleased it was resolved so quickly by very efficient, friendly, staff.

Amazing dentistry I’ve had really bad experiences before elsewhere but Sam and Abbie made me feel at ease I’m happy I’m no longer in pain and have gained some relief. Fitted me in quite quick which was a plus and I can thank them all enough

I’m really not a fan of dentists and I’ve been staying away for over a decade. My experience with them has always been a negative one. But not with this dentist I can honestly say I was treated with respect and they were patient with me as I was unease at times and I can help but thank Sam and Abbie his assistance where both amazing my teeth feels so much better they fitted me in as close as they can and dealt with me professionally definitely recommend this place

After raising a concern, the initial complaint wasn’t dealt with to a standard I anticipated nor expected, but after some further in depth communication, I do believe that Mr Bowen dealt with the issues accordingly.

I’m a life-long patient of Six Gables Dental Practice and cannot speak more highly of the service they provide. Rhys Thomas is an excellent dentist who takes the time to ensure all patient needs are met. When a vital tooth could no longer be saved Rhys ensured I knew all of my options going forward. When I decided on a dental implant, Andy Gardiner was the only man for the job. The whole process was exceptionally smooth and delivered with absolute professionalism and humour. I’m completely thrilled with the results and would not hesitate to recommend Six Gables for routine or private work. Thanks to the whole team.

A pleasant environment and friendly helpful staff. I am on crutches and it was no problem at all for them to make sure my appointments are on the ground floor. I have been with the practice over 40 years (originally at the other end of town) I think that tells you how good the practice is. I highly recommend this dental practice

I never dreamt I would end up enjoying going to the dentist but after being with six Gables for over ten years I actually do. They are friendly and courteous and my teeth feel and look great now thanks to their dedication and professionalism. I am not wealthy but it is a great comfort to know that I am able to get the BEST treatment available at a very affordable price. I will always be grateful for that and I am fully convinced that every minute I spend there adds a years to how long I can keep my pearly whites

I have been with Six Gables Practice for 35 years, even though I no longer live in the Whitchurch area, I wouldn’t go anywhere else. No one loves visiting the dentist …but here they really do offer calm, friendly, excellent dental care making the whole experience as painless and as pleasant as possible. They will also always do their best to help in an emergency. Can highly recommend.

I always receive a warm welcome. I was pleasantly surprised to see the newly refurbished reception area on my last visit. The dentists are chatty and provide useful advice. For all the years I've been attending this practice, it's always a pleasant experience with friendly staff.

I have been a patient of Huw Bowen's at Six Gables for about 18 years, and have always received excellent dental care there. The staff at reception are always friendly and helpful, and Mr Bowen is thorough and gentle (so important in a dentist!). I am never nervous about going there, as he and his nurse always make me feel at ease.During the pandemic I had a problem which worried me, but was hesitant as I did not want to bother them. In the end I phoned, and got an appointment very soon afterwards. I was giventhe same care & attention as ever.I would not go anywhere else!

I joined this year and am being cared for by Dr Andrew Gardiner. Currently going through the teeth straightening process with Invisalign. This is a lovely practice, everyone has been very helpful and friendly, they make you feel very welcome. Dr Gardiner has been able to advise me on what is needed and the process is going really well. My husband and I have now joined the practice as a result of it. Thank you.

Since my first interaction with Andy, I knew I was coming to the right place. Medical places in general can be difficult at first as a trans person, worrying that you be be judged or face awkward questions, it can be pretty rough. All of these concerns were completely eradicated when I met the team, from the girls on the front desk, to Andy’s dental assistant, all so warm, professional and kind.I now specifically travel down regularly from London for treatments, I’m getting Invisalign and whitening on my teeth and seeing Andy for my dental fillers, honestly I could not have wished for a better service.Thank you team! ❤️

I strongly recommend Six Gables Dental Practice. My dentist, Ioan Rees, cared about patients in small deatils. To make sure I would not feel pain when refilling my tooth, he cleaned my teeth while waiting for the anaesthetic to work. It's great!
