Dermal Fillers

Fillers help replace the natural substances that keep your skin looking younger but that diminish over the years as we start to lose collagen and elastin.

What are dermal fillers?

A sterile hyaluronic gel is used to restore the skin and replace what has been lost. It is skilfully injected into an area to add volume to the face.

It can also be used to define and enhance the natural contours of your face. At Six Gables Dental Practice Andy Gardiner can use dermal fillers to plump up lips and cheeks and restore fullness.

Dermal fillers can also be used to soften smile lines from the sides of the mouth to the nose that often deepen with age. Tear troughs or dark circles under the eyes can also be restored.

What type of dermal filler is used?

We use Juvederm® to either refresh areas of your face, smooth away lines or enhance certain features. It blends with the tissue beneath your skin for a beautiful and refreshed, natural look.

How long does the effect last?

The effects of the treatment can last up to 24 months depending on the area of the face where filler is used. It is an alternative to surgery and the results can be seen immediately.

Will I feel any pain?

An anaesthetic is included in Juvederm® facial filler to help reduce any discomfort during the procedure. A topical cream can also be applied before the treatment begins to numb the area.
